The Republican Liberty Caucus of Benewah County, Idaho hosted their annual dinner auction on April 22, 2016. With a packed house and a lineup of great speakers, the evening was fun for everyone.

Hari Heath was the master-of-ceremonies for the evening, doing a great job. Heath lined up an array of speakers discussing a wide variety of topics.

Elizabeth Ann Hodge, of Northwest Liberty Academy, spoke on the academy’s work with the young people. Liberty Academy is open to everyone, aged 12-112, and teaches the importance of integrity in the political venue. 3 days of training in the Idaho capital helps everyone to understand how the government works, and how they can be a part of it.

Carl Berglund, Candidate for Idaho Legislature, Seat 5A, gave everyone a chance to get to know him, and showed why he is the right choice for the Idaho House. A Constitutional candidate, Berglund gave an interesting insight to the beginnings of our country, with emphasis on why returning land to state control is so important.

Matt Shea, Chairman of the Coalition Of Western States (COWS), is always a great speaker. His discussion included a brief update on what was accomplished in this year’s session in Olympia, as well as information on the Malheur situation.

The Keynote Speaker was Heather Scott, Republican Liberty Caucus of Idaho Legislator of the Year. Scott spoke on of the need to engage citizens. Her goal is to make citizens aware of the power they hold over their elected officials. Bottom-up government is how our country was designed, and Scott reinforces the message with several stories of citizen success.

The evening was not complete without the fundraising auction. Many items were donated, but the fun was in the desserts. Enjoy the videos of the highlights of the evening. We are sure next year’s event will be just as delightful, and we hope that you plan to attend.
